NextGen School of Discipleship and the Arts
Every month on the first Wednesday of the month and the third Wednesday of the month until Oct 20, 2021 from 6:00p to 8:30p

NextGen School of Discipleship and the Arts is New Life’s discipleship program for 1st through 6th graders.

It meets from 6:00-8:30pm at New Life Kempsville on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month.

Starting September 2021 and ending June 2022.

Cost- $150.00 for books, resources, and food.

Our Family Ministry vision is to see every child and youth in New Life have someone in their life who knows their name, their story, and is praying for them. NextGen School is how we see that vision become a reality in the lives of our 1st - 6th graders.

Kids can expect NextGen School to be a fun, high-energy night that encourages them to know Jesus Christ and grow in a relationship with Him. All parts of NextGen School—Bible stories, art classes, scripture memory, life application, small groups, missions, and recreation—connect to teach life lessons to kids.

The NextGen School motto is descriptive of what we try to accomplish with Family Nights:

- Learning about God

- Using the Bible

- Living for Jesus

NextGen School helps kids through a study of God’s Word. Using fun activities and Bible material, they can apply the Bible verses they learn to know how God wants them to live. A missions feature every week will open their eyes to the need of people around the world to hear about Jesus.

The 36 week program is categorized by 6 primary units consisting of teachings on:

  • Worship
  • The Bible
  • Prayer
  • Rest & Remembrance
  • Serving
  • Sharing our Faith

In addition to 18 weeks of NextGen services at our churchwide Family Night gatherings, we will provide 18 weeks of at home resources for parents to engage their children. The at home content for the parents consists of about 20 to 30 minutes every other week. We believe that, as parents prioritize this time, it will strengthen the family unit while allowing the parent to continue to grow and be the spiritual champion in the life of their child.

NextGen School also combines ministry and the arts, allowing children to identify creative forms of expressing their worship to God while developing new skills in an exciting and fun way. The 36 week artistic expression of the school will be broken down into 2 semesters allowing children to select one of the following classes:

  • Chorus
  • Dance
  • Percussion
  • Instrumental
  • Martial Arts
  • Visual Arts
  • Culinary Arts

Everything starts on Sept 22nd with an Open House for parents. Classes begin October 6.

We pray God will use the NextGen School of Discipleship and the Arts to disciple New Life’s children to both desire and have a deep, sincere relationship with God.
