What to Expect

Getting Here.

We are located in the Deep Creek area of Chesapeake less than a mile off of I-64, exit 296B, on Shell Road.

Gathering Details.

Sunday mornings are designed for each person to experience the presence of God in full-hearted worship, to learn to live in Christ through the study of the word of God and to have the opportunity for personal prayer. These components combine to make a 90-minute service.

Family Ministries.

After parking in the KidLife parking area, you will enter through double doors where each family checks in their children. Each child and parent will receive a matching printed ticket for a secure check in and pick up. If your child should need you during service, you will receive a text to meet them to pick them up in KidLife.

KidLife Preschool

Birth-K4
Your little ones are welcome in their classrooms for the entirety of service. Once you arrive, check your little ones in at Check-In, get their tags and they can enter their classrooms upon arrival! We have them divided between infants/crawlers, toddlers, and Pre-K/Kindergarten.

KidLife Elementary

K-5th
Kindergarten to 5th-grade kids come to a KidLife Elementary service where they engage in dynamic worship and Bible story video lessons during large group time. We use the Grow Curriculum, which reveals a godly character trait each month. Directly after the large group, the kids transition to classrooms for grade-specific small groups with fun, age-appropriate Bible study and activities

Youth

6-12th
New Life’s youth ministry expression is designed to allow students the opportunity to begin to be a part of the broad expression of New Life’s weekend services. Because of this commitment, we are continuing to create opportunities for our youth to be more and more involved in New Life weekend services, as well as shape and influence our weekend services. We believe strongly that students aren’t just the church of tomorrow but, more accurately, today’s church.

Deep Creek Team

At Deep Creek, our team is dedicated to meeting the unique needs of our campus. Our staff includes Pastors, Directors, and Support Team members who work together to love and serve our congregation. Beyond our church walls, we are committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus in our community, sharing His love with those around us. Leading this effort is our Campus Pastor, Jon Backens.

We are only 2 minutes from the I-64 296B Exit (George Washington Highway) in the heart of the Deep Creek neighborhood of Chesapeake.
We have two entrances along Shell Rd to our parking lots. You are welcome to park in any available parking space.
Our KidsLife Ministry is open to all families with pre-school–5th grade kids. Pre-school classes receive kids before service and elementary kids will join the main service for the Praise & Worship portion of our service and will be dismissed afterwards. Middle schoolers meet every 1st,3rd & 5th Sundays for Breakfast Club during service and our encouraged to serve on a Ministry Team on the 2nd& 4th Sundays.
We recommend you arrive 10-15 minutes early to give yourself time to get situated—whether to grab a cup of coffee or tea, check-in any children you have or to meet and greet with others.
We’d love to connect with you! Visit the Information Center in the Atrium anytime or pick up a Connection Card during announcements. Fill it out and return it to the Information Center after service to receive a first-time guest gift. You can also meet our Pastors and Ministry Directors at the Next Steps wall after service.
