What to Expect

Getting Here.

We are located in the Kempsville area of Virginia Beach about a mile up Indian River Road off of I-64, exit 286B. We are just up the road from CBN/Regent University. Our address is 1244 Thompkins Ln, Virginia Beach, VA 23464.

Gathering Details.

You’ll be greeted at the door, and upon entering the church lobby, you are welcome to a cup of coffee or tea. A typical worship service at New Life Church consists of 25-30 minutes of whole-hearted worship, about 10 minutes of family news and announcements, and a 40-minute sermon.

Family Ministries.

After parking in the KidLife parking area, you will enter through double doors where each family checks in their children. Each child and parent will receive a matching printed ticket for a secure check in and pick up. If your child should need you during service, you will receive a text to meet them to pick them up in KidLife.

For Our Families

KidLife Preschool.

Birth-K4
Preschool KidLife area is designed for infants through PreK-5 for the entire duration of the service. Our Infants: 2-year-old children are loved on and rocked while worship songs fill the room. 1–2-year-old room fills their time with playtime, snack time, and Bible songs. Once 3 years old and potty trained, they can move up to Pre-K 3. In the Pre-K classes, your little ones have a bit free play time as everyone arrives, they hop over to preschool large room for worship and teaching video, and then lastly return for games/activities and a little snack. If weather allows, they may go outside for a little playground fun (always accompanied by our security).

KidLife Elementary.

K-5th
With their families, Kindergarten-5th graders make their way to the sanctuary after checking in. After worship all together, children are dismissed to the KidLife Auditorium where they discuss the theme for the month and are introduced as a group to the week’s Biblical lesson. Children then head with a teacher to their age-appropriate classes for games, activities, and fun lessons in God’s Word. Just before parents are dismissed from sanctuary children Kindergarten-3rd graders return to the KidLife Auditorium for pick up. *4th and 5th graders remain in their classes for pick up in the Elementary Hall. Don’t forget your child’s matching ticket.

Middle School.

6-8th
Middle school students will be dismissed after praise and worship. On the first, third, and fifth weekends of the month, they will be dismissed to Breakfast Club (their age-appropriate class in the youth room). On second and fourth weekends of the month, middle school students are invited to the Youth Check-in desk in the lobby to join a volunteer team (e.g., KidLife ministry, ushering, coffee team) for the remainder of the service.
