(no artistic experience necessary!)

Illustrated Bible journaling is a form of creative worship that allows you to engage with God’s Word in a new way.

You will learn how to visualize what God is speaking to you through His word and to illustrate that through a variety of skills, including colorful thematic notes, decorative lettering, and simple drawings. Supplies (which will be provided) consist of pens, pencils, colored pencils, watercolors, and wash tape. Each class will include a time of individual reading and prayer, followed by an opportunity to use the new techniques.

Foundations of the Christian Life

Every good army trains before the battle. Since we are in a spiritual war, let’s sharpen our swords together. Whether you are a new believer or a seasoned saint, in this class, we will worship our Lord together by studying scripture and training our spirits to discern His Holy Spirit. Then, we will do mighty things for His glory in His kingdom in the days to come on the earth. Bring your Bible and the full armor of God. We need you in the fight.

GriefShare Ministry

GriefShare is a biblically based grief support group, with the gathering of the bereaved due to the death of a loved one. It is a 13 week cycle with topical subjects each week, such as “Is This Normal”, “Fearful & Overwhelmed”, along with “Hope & Resilience”. Our time together consists of small-group discussions, a video seminar, and the participant guide. You do not have to travel the journey of grief alone. Don’t allow anyone to tell you Christians don’t grieve…we do, but we grieve as those who have hope. Registration online at GriefShare.org and the purchase of the workbook ($20) are required.

Prophetic Song: A Daily Journey from Depression to Joy

Everyone can prophesy a new song. This beginning class will introduce the basics of developing Prophetic Song in your personal life and in the church. This course will explore why we all are called to sing. We will discover what to sing to enhance spiritual growth in our own lives. We will also learn to encourage, exhort, and comfort others in group gatherings. There will be an activation at the end of the teaching. All are invited to participate. Sing Zion Sing

Mind Matters: A Mental Health Seminar for Women

Join us as we learn more about women’s mental health issues. There will be a main speaker, followed by a panel to answer your (anonymous) questions. Our guest speaker, Jenny Hornby, is an LPC with Stepping Stones Counseling Service in Chesapeake. She has a BS in Science from James Madison University and an MA in Community Counseling from Regent University. She is certified in Hope-Focused Marriage Counseling and specializes in many areas, including working with clients with anxiety, attachment disorder, trauma, and depression.
