The Mission of New Life Youth

Our goal is to create an environment where middle and high school students will make life-long best friends, become radical in the Christian faith, and discover how God can use them to change the world.

Disciple U

Disciple U is a youth discipleship program designed to guide students through the three phases of knowing God mentally, relationally, and confidently. While it’s the most fun environment ever for a student to make their best friends and grow more in their relationship with God, it’s also a serious commitment! Each phase consists of a weekend retreat, 18 evening sessions throughout the year, some required reading, and a summer mission trip, all while enjoying the community of fellow students committed to being a disciple of Jesus. Applications due by September 19th.

Phase 1: 7th and 8th grade, Know God Mentally.
Tuesdays from 6:00-8:30p

Phase 2: 9th and 10th grade, Know God Relationally.
Tuesdays from 6:30-8:30p

Phase 3: 11th and 12th grade, Know God Confidently.
Tuesdays from 6:00-8:30p

All three phases meet at our Kempsville Campus.

Youth Nights

Youth Nights happen every Wednesday night (except the last Wednesday of the month) from 6-8:30p at the Kempsville campus for middle and high school students.

As our main service for the youth, students can expect to play a short game, have worship, hear a teaching, and then break out into small groups to dig deeper on the night’s teaching.

Invite Nights

Invite Nights occur on the last Wednesday of the month and take the place of our weekly Youth Night for middle and high school students. Invite Nights have the same feel and flow as Youth Nights, but involve a larger group game along with a theme for the evening (like 80s night or color wars). These nights are designed to be evangelistic and more fun in nature, in order to be an introduction to our Youth programs. We encourage all youth to bring a friend on these special nights.

Breakfast Club

The Breakfast Club is New Life’s unique and creative campus-specific middles chool class on Sunday mornings. It’s designed to teach and equip students to take notes, dissect, and discuss our New Life weekend services. Framed as a conversational approach to Sunday “school,” The Breakfast Club has three essential components:

  1. A relaxing environment
  2. Conversation based small groups surrounding the previous week’s message

The goal of The Breakfast Club is not to download information, but to build relationships and engage in spiritual conversations that foster spiritual growth.
